“We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;  in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;  in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;  in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;  through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;  known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;  sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.  We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.    As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.”

– 2 Corinthians 6: 1-13

He is the desire of our hearts. He is complete contentment. He is the faint hope we still have in unfailing love. He is life, and He asks us to live with open hearts, ready to receive His infinite grace and abundant blessings through a life of personal sacrifice for others.

I’m trying to get this truth across and struggle myself to believe it many days. I’m constantly evaluating the sin in my own heart, my misbeliefs about Him. I think about it all a lot.

You’ll discover that on this blog.

I don’t really have a specific theme, but you’ll find a lot about media and music and travel and friendship and words because I love all those things and am in a constant state of pondering and evaluating life and motive revolving around these things.

I think Christ cares a lot about how we handle media and people that are different than us. I think we should consider these things with the importance that He did. I think it’s hard to navigate being a twenty-first century Christian who wants to both acknowledge the sins of our culture and yet love people radically well. I think we all need to give each other a little grace and open our arms to each other a little wider. Maybe even open our hearts a little wider.

I think a lot.

I’m get lost in my mind a lot.

(Hence the “earth to mm.”)

So, to the thinker, the hurting, the addict, the numb, the faithless, the Pharisee, the sinner like me:

Let’s open wide our hearts together.
